Sommerfeld educated his students fast and he (originally a mathematician) introduced them rapidly into scientific research to solve mathematically exhaustively the very actual physical questions of the time. Therefore they lack somehow a certain thoroughness. Even Heisenberg did not know matrices when he needed them. The author noticed that Heisenberg was not taught in Hamiltonmechanics. But this is the foundation for the conclusion drawn here. (We linked below the analytical mechanics lectures of K.H. Weise, the mathematician Unsöld worked with, who taught them to the author) Sommerfeld convinced from his talented premature student put him in the habilitation procedure but the test was so disastrous for Heisenberg, because the co-investigators would not have given Heisenberg a pass through the tests, only the authority of Sommerfeld seems accountable for that. After Heisenberg became professor he somehow "fled" to Leipzig. As it is known he established successfully. His first works as his later ones showed, that Sommerfelds appreciation of him was appropriate. But Heisenberg and other Sommerfeld scholars could not restitute the height (and gospel:) of german physics before the second world war, as the U.S. and world closed up and in the sign of the atomic age educated an abundant number of physicists. (This was also due to an inner german "modern" bending to pure logical (or foundational abstract) tendencies in mathematics and physics in the 1930s, backed after the war in the 50s from abroad affectation and bias. As you may not know we had then the Morgenthauplan here and the author had to connect resistors in series to obtain high-ohmic ones, that were forbidden then to make Germanys industrial evolution impossible. History changed this plan.) Gratefully thanked Sommerfeld worked several times for the Bureau of Standards ( #nist ) on spectroscopy during his America visits. But there is a publishing "circus and theatre" that, and for own mistakes, disabled the author, if he would not have partly self-published his results, as can be controlled in the book, or on this site. Please be so kind to do this. (He was banned from publishing by his employer the Max-Planck-Insitute for Plasmaphysics after the death of Heisenberg amongst others, see article "calculations ..."  below.) The chapters nine and ten of the book Physics Using the Virial Theorem to appear here are the logical conclusion of the comparison of quantum- and classical mechanics, posted the last months.
