A theory of condensed matter which is not based on the conventional energy of free, so-called degenerate particles is applied to the condensed elements of the #periodic_system . This yields laws relating the #electron_energy of the single atoms and the density of the condensate which allow conclusions regarding the #electrical_conductivity and the #chemical_valence . Application is also made to the problem of the #work_function of the electrons (Austrittsarbeit) . Finally the theory reverts to its thermodynamic origin. In this context a new general pressure function based on the #virial_theorem is given. This function can be used, in particular, to calculate the compressibility of metals as well as the characteristics of stars, especially of dense stars. The pressure function calls for determination of the #entropy function .
